A Day at Camp

Our regular program begins when the buses arrive at camp at 10:00 am. Campers break out into their groups and activities commence.

Included Daily: Swimming and Swim Lessons, Arts and Crafts, Nature, Music and Outdoor Recreation & Sports.

Included Weekly: Wednesday is “Cook Out Day”, and HappyLand provides lunch for everyone. Also, Wednesday is typically the day we bring in our off-site entertainment. Each week also has a special theme with coinciding activities.

Specialty Clinics: On Tuesday & Thursday Happyland arranges for professional instructors to teach in-depth activities ranging from sports to theater. Previous years have included beading, flag football, cheerleading, tae kwon do and yoga.

Lunch/Snacks: Campers bring a bag lunch, which is refrigerated until lunchtime. Afternoon snacks are provided by the camp, and drinking water is always available to the kids.

Camper Groups

The group structure at HappyLand is separated by age and grade with each group having its own qualified staff. Pre-school children are our youngest group, followed by those entering Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grades. Fourth graders make up the senior group.

Inclement Weather Accomodations
Shelters for our planned activities during inclement weather include our lodge, with full kitchen and assembly area, pavilion shelters, arts & crafts lodge and nature lodge. All programs proceed as scheduled except for swimming.

Transportation
Transportation is provided daily. Buses are professionally driven, equipped with seat belts, 2-way radios, & supervised by camp staff. Pick-ups begin about 9:00 am and are located at area schools for your convenience. The buses depart camp at 4:00 pm and drop-offs are completed by 5:00 pm.

Health and Medicine
HappyLand Day Camp is licensed by the New York State Department of Health. The camp is inspected as required, twice each season. All inspection reports are filed with the Niagara County Health Department. Medication is kept in a locked first aid cabinet in the office, and is only dispensed by the director and in strict accordance to parents written instructions.
